RopeCon^® for the Booysendal expansion project

As part of an additional expansion program, Booysendal North Mine, contracted Doppelmayr to design and construct an additional RopeCon^®, to tie in with the first system on Booysendal South Mine, allowing transport of ore from mining modules in the north of the concession. This RopeCon^® system will convey 400 tph, over 2.8km, with a vertical drop of 160m.

Following some delays due to the Covid restrictions, the system is under site construction again and is planned to be operating in 2021.
